Leading Independent presidential candidate Daniel Imperato discussed many topics during his weekly Internet broadcast specifically contrasting his global experience with those of the current challengers. Answering questions from viewers Imperato stated, “I’m glad that Americans are looking at principles. These candidates like Clinton, Obama, Romney, and Giuliani are built on good looks and pocketbooks. When you dig into the substance of these candidates, you will find that there is very little”.
In a post broadcast interview, Imperato addressed the looming energy crisis after the International Energy Agency’s annual energy outlook warned about a pending supply crunch that will further cripple the American economy. “It is interesting that the French President Nicolas Sarkozy had to personally urge our leaders in congress to maintain a strong dollar policy, warning in Washington that ‘monetary disorder risked turning into economic war’.”
He referred to a speech in French to a joint session of Congress in which Sarkozy attacked the “excesses” of Wall Street for out-of-control financial speculation that has lead to the current mortgage crises. Imperato sees the connection to the oil supply squeeze coming from the Middle East and is the only candidate that is calling for immediate emphasis on alternative energy use to prepare for the oil supply crunch. He cited Oil Price Information Service analyst Tom Kloza’s prediction quoted in the New York Times of $4.00 a gallon for gasoline by spring.
“There is no surprise that these gas prices keep going up. As I stated a few days ago, the real aim of the Saudis and the Bush family is to control the flow of oil from the Middle East with Bush associates brokering the market deals from Houston long after we have a new president. This is despicable way to conduct a foreign policy, but it should be expected from a president who had no international experience when he was elected. We cannot afford to make that same mistake when we select a new president in 2008.”
Again echoing Mr. Sarkozy’s warning, that monetary disorder risks descending into economic war, Imperato pointed out that these developments are the main reasons for heightened tensions in Turkey, and the instability of governments in both Pakistan and the Republic of Georgia.
“We need our European allies now to help forge reasonable diplomatic solutions to address the financial and military conflicts that are sparking now. As Sarkozy said, ‘Have confidence in Europe’. I agree. But again, we need a leader who has spent most of his life in foreign capitals doing business and understanding the culture and manner of resolving disputes.”
Imperato concluded his weekly broadcast with the reminder of his business acumen combined with his Judeo-Christian credentials and “It’s time that Christian Conservatives, and America at large, stand up for the principles that this country was founded on. As president, I will do my best to defend those principles and restore reason to our foreign policy.”
