» Advice needed about using points to fly business class
Need your advice please. Flying YYC-YYZ-UVF(St. Lucia) return next November (yes, I'm really planning ahead!) using points. I want to fly business class - they have two seats available for the YYC-YYZ legs, but ... only one seat available for the YYZ-UVF legs. I'm thinking about getting the two business class tickets (I understand that they would be ticketed D class but one would be assigned hospitality class seats), and then trying to get upgraded at the gate for the 2nd seat on the YYZ-UVF legs. Technically, you can't get upgraded on point seats, but these would be "paid for" in business class points. Would you recommend that? I'm new here, so I don't quite know, but what exactly do you all with SE status, or those who constantly fly J overseas a lot, do for a living that requires that kind of extensive travel? Just completed rental #40 - I called Hertz and they confirmed that I'll be PC effective tomorrow. Total cost of my "rental run" (otherwise unnecessary rentals): 2 rentals, $24 each + tax. The taxes and fees cost about as much as the 1000 Marriott points are worth, meaning that I basically paid $50 for PC membership. Hope it's worth it...Definately worth $50. The rules for the $50 Visa companion cert say that the companion has to fly with the primary passenger on all flights. What if the companion no-shows the final segment on a forced overnight connection? Will the airline deny boarding to the primary passenger? It sure looks strange to see 40 and 50 dbz returns in WRN OK, advancing E and NE. But I must say, knowing the situation there, it also looks good. Is anybody else having serious problems contacting mypoints lately? I have several transaction from April that I still have not received credit for - Fox.com and Reflect.com - and I have written and sent them the documentation. I am either not getting any response other than a form email of "wait 20 business days" even though it has been over 60 business days. Or I get a response that the points will be credited in 5 days - which they don't - then they tell me to wait 2 more days because they are entering them in manually - and it has been a week since then and they still haven't posted. I just got IIS running on my machine for development work, and I want to use Server-Side Includes in pages with a ".htm" extension. I followed the directions for mapping file extensions but when I got to the part where I actually type in the file type and the processor I want to use, the "Yes" button is grayed out. Does anyone know anything about this?With SSI you should name the file with a .stm, .shtm, .shtml, or .asp extension...You need ssinc.dll as the processor and you need to fill in a type too before you can confirm it. Unlike the previous three years when I achieved my elite status in the middle of the year, I managed to reach the 35,000 mile level at the last minute in 2006. The "aeroplan" website indicates that I will be defaulted (with terrible choices of benefits) unless I select my package by January 21st. However, I didn't receive any invitation email yet. I called the aeroplan elite customer service number, and they said that they cannot do anything for me (after acknowledging that I have achiveved the 2007 elite status), and asked me to send an email to aeroplan.com. OK, been meaning to post this for a while...as an SE who has occasionally been known to have a glass or two of wine, I always see the same wines. Hey, that Int'l wine list is really good window dressing - why not add a few pages to it, since lots of the wines never seem to be on board. Best days were when they were using up the CP stock and you'd get a real mixture of things..just be on the 2nd glass of cabernet, when they'd run out and you'd have to switch to Shiraz. Nothing like getting educated while you fly. I do a lot of work (up to 8 hours/day) on my computer. I do take a 5 minute break roughly every hour, but I still get killer headaches on the right side of my head. My vision is close to 20/20. Hello folks, I've trawled as much of the Forum here as i can, but have had no joy in finding any info on my specific problem, so here goes... The audio output in my XBMC has suddenly dropped off to almost nothing; although I had thought that it was completely mute if I turn the volume on my old Sony CRT TV all the way up the sound is still playing but it's very, very soft. If i access something through the Xenium Dashboard which uses audio of any kind before loading XBMC, the volume is absolutely fine, so I've assumed (probably incorrectly) that it is a setting of some kind that I may have accidentally changed or modified within the XBMC itself - although I can't find anything anywhere to suggest what it is that I may have done! ...... - 2008-11-18

I found this airline on the web and gave it a try. It was excellent! I took NI 931 from LIS to NCE. Everything from the ticket desk to check-in to the Lounge was first rate. PGA's business lounge in Lisbon is as nice as most airlines 1st class lounge. PGA is one of only two airlines that I know of that has separate bus's for Business Class passengers. LAN Chile is the other. I've always wished other airlines that use buses on the tarmac would treat business class passengers separately. Hi I just downloaded GXT Beta 3 and noticed there are lots of changes: not just bug fixes but also some new features, code enhancements (such as getter/setter, container) ... I am new to a rural school. They definitely "teach to the test" here. It works for writing I guess, they had no students below proficiency level last year. One problem, though-I have those same kids to teach this year. We were doing a recent unit on helping and linking verbs. I was totally unprepared for the fact that some of these 6th and 7th graders cannot even locate the verb in a sentence. So, I am going to start at square one. The problem is that our text assumes skills that these kids don't have. My assumption with XBMC is that I should be able to browse those playlists (m3u format) I created outside of XBMC when in Library Mode the same way I can browse my music library by Genre, Album, Top 100, etc. All my music is store on a NAS along with my playlists. I see the guisettings.xml points to q:\userdata\playlists for the location of playlists. From my readings I was under the impression that simply editing AdvancedSettings.xml to include: smb://MSS-HDD/Public/Our Music/Playlists would override the setting in guisettings.xml. I actually read one post where a member did just that and commented that XBMC created the subdir's 'mixed', 'music' and 'video' and then he just copied his playlists into the 'music' dir. Need your advice please. Flying YYC-YYZ-UVF(St. Lucia) return next November (yes, I'm really planning ahead!) using points. I want to fly business class - they have two seats available for the YYC-YYZ legs, but ... only one seat available for the YYZ-UVF legs. I'm thinking about getting the two business class tickets (I understand that they would be ticketed D class but one would be assigned hospitality class seats), and then trying to get upgraded at the gate for the 2nd seat on the YYZ-UVF legs. Just completed rental #40 - I called Hertz and they confirmed that I'll be PC effective tomorrow. Total cost of my "rental run" (otherwise unnecessary rentals): 2 rentals, $24 each + tax. I just got IIS running on my machine for development work, and I want to use Server-Side Includes in pages with a ".htm" extension. I followed the directions for mapping file extensions but when I got to the part where I actually type in the file type and the processor I want to use, the "Yes" button is grayed out. Does anyone know anything about this?With SSI you should name the file with a .stm, .shtm, .shtml, or .asp extension...You need ssinc.dll as the processor and you need to fill in a type too before you can confirm it. Unlike the previous three years when I achieved my elite status in the middle of the year, I managed to reach the 35,000 mile level at the last minute in 2006. The "aeroplan" website indicates that I will be defaulted (with terrible choices of benefits) unless I select my package by January 21st. However, I didn't receive any invitation email yet. OK, been meaning to post this for a while...as an SE who has occasionally been known to have a glass or two of wine, I always see the same wines. Hey, that Int'l wine list is really good window dressing - why not add a few pages to it, since lots of the wines never seem to be on board. Best days were when they were using up the CP stock and you'd get a real mixture of things..just be on the 2nd glass of cabernet, when they'd run out and you'd have to switch to Shiraz. Nothing like getting educated while you fly. I do a lot of work (up to 8 hours/day) on my computer. I do take a 5 minute break roughly every hour, but I still get killer headaches on the right side of my head. My vision is close to 20/20. Hello folks, I've trawled as much of the Forum here as i can, but have had no joy in finding any info on my specific problem, so here goes... The audio output in my XBMC has suddenly dropped off to almost nothing; although I had thought that it was completely mute if I turn the volume on my old Sony CRT TV all the way up the sound is still playing but it's very, very soft. If i access something through the Xenium Dashboard which uses audio of any kind before loading XBMC, the volume is absolutely fine, so I've assumed (probably incorrectly) that it is a setting of some kind that I may have accidentally changed or modified within the XBMC itself - although I can't find anything anywhere to suggest what it is that I may have done! ...... - 2008-11-18

Hi I just downloaded GXT Beta 3 and noticed there are lots of changes: not just bug fixes but also some new features, code enhancements (such as getter/setter, container) ... I am new to a rural school. They definitely "teach to the test" here. It works for writing I guess, they had no students below proficiency level last year. One problem, though-I have those same kids to teach this year. We were doing a recent unit on helping and linking verbs. I was totally unprepared for the fact that some of these 6th and 7th graders cannot even locate the verb in a sentence. So, I am going to start at square one. The problem is that our text assumes skills that these kids don't have. My assumption with XBMC is that I should be able to browse those playlists (m3u format) I created outside of XBMC when in Library Mode the same way I can browse my music library by Genre, Album, Top 100, etc. All my music is store on a NAS along with my playlists. I see the guisettings.xml points to q:\userdata\playlists for the location of playlists. From my readings I was under the impression that simply editing AdvancedSettings.xml to include: smb://MSS-HDD/Public/Our Music/Playlists would override the setting in guisettings.xml. I actually read one post where a member did just that and commented that XBMC created the subdir's 'mixed', 'music' and 'video' and then he just copied his playlists into the 'music' dir.
